I’ve an hermit heart,
I’m kneaded with silence and wind,
I’m ancient.
– M.Gualtieri
This sentence expresses the essence of the woman I took inspiration from, Virginia Wolf mother’s, Julia Jackson. The collection I designed took form from two inspirational sources in which I recognized myself in. I mixed the reading of the book ” The Lighthouse”(where Virginia Wolf describes the overshadowed life of her mother), and the sensation of being wet “under water/rain” I felt watching the contemporary exhibition “Rain Room” and the “Random Dance” by the choreographer Wayne McGregor.
After this immersion with literature and contemporary art I developed five outfits worn by five women, “Young and solemn, joyous and discret, black but enchating.”
